Awe and Wonder ..... and Intimacy

Buildings are special. They can speak to us. We probably all have buildings that we love, and others that we hate!

There is something about church buildings that have been prayed in over many years, (even centuries), that helps us to appreciate the presence of God.

Sometimes people talk about the church building as 'The house of God', but Jesus actually says that through faith God comes to make his home in US!

Even though God is not limited to buildings, they are important as a focus for us as Christian communities.

Rather than the church being 'The House of God' ... perhaps it would be good to think of our church building as 'The House of the People of God'

Our hope is that our church building helps people to sense the wonder and greatness of Almighty God, and at the same to be aware of God's closeness to us.
